Palais de Tokyo scented candle by celebrated French ceramic house, Astier de Villatte. Overlooking the river Seine, like a mysterious starship navigating the mysterious turbulence of artists imaginations, it dominates the view. A troubling fragrance floats between the raw cement walls of its wide, maze-like passageways, where a crowd of zealous and enlightened visitors feverishly gathers: intoxicating wisps of smoky wood, warm skin and metallic vibrations. Made in collaboration with the Palais de Tokyo.
Scent family - Woody.
Notes: Damp wood, incense, freshly laundered linen, vetiver, and clove.
Size: 260g, burntime 60 - 70 hours.
The candle fragrances were developed by Astier de Villatte designers and perfumer Franoise Caron who worked with a team at Takasago.
The candles are made of biodegradable vegetable wax (a mix of soy, beeswax, and plant extracts) and have cotton wicks.
The glass is hand blown in Tuscany, making each one completely unique.
- Care instructions: ensure the entire wax surface is molten each burn before extinguishing the flame. Trimming the wick after each burn prevents soot forming on the glass.
- The labels and packaging for the candles are printed by Monsieur Huin, the last typesetter in France.
